Better News...!
- Apple have released a Windows version of their excellent web browser Safari. I have had a quick look at it, and it appears to work really well. It only runs on XP and Vista however.
- Now it really is time for PC users to get rid of Internet Explorer and use a decent standards compliant browser. Firefox is available for those with older versions of Windows.
Good News...!
- Microsoft have released version 7 of their Internet Explorer browser for the PC. Finally they are offering the support for now ageing web standards such as transparency in PNG images (5 - 10 years behind the rest of the world), fixed positioning of page elements and tabbed browsing. This has enabled me to redesign this site for the whole world. Hooray!
- If you experience problems with any standards compliant website now, it is likely that you will need to download a standards compliant browser (eg Firefox, Netscape, Safari, Opera, iCab) or update your Internet Explorer to Version 7. No doubt it will have some unexpected bugs - it wouldn't be a Microsoft product without - but hopefully they will be fixed in a timely fashion.
Bad News...!
- Microsoft have bludgeoned me into submission. Because my website looked so awful on IE6, and because so many people still use it, I have gone back to 12 year old web design. (Quietly weeping with frustration...)
